Gina Rodriguez Shaved Half Her Head: See the Dramatic Haircut

Did she really just get rid of her long waves?!

On Wednesday, we said goodbye to the long, wavy-haired version of Gina Rodriguez that we know and love as the star debuted a new, short-haired look for us all to swoon over just as much as we did her flawless Jane the Virgin waves. But then, on Thursday, we were made to mourn the actress’s locks anew, as Gina switched things up yet again, debuting an even bolder, partially shaved ponytail in preparation for her new role as Anya Thorensen in Annhiliation.

Rodriguez shared a photo on Instagram Sunday, revealing not only her new chop, but also the fact that she’s not quite ready to accept her short length. “Short hair, don’t care,” she wrote, adding, “Ha. Not true. It’ll take some adjusting. I’ll just be a little crazy till the fairy dust settles!”

But hold on, there’s more: Early Wednesday morning, the star tweeted a major update. “Easily 5 lbs lighter, she wrote, adding that all of her hair is gone. “And yesterday I shaved my head. Can’t wait to show everyone!”

Just a few weeks back, Rodriguez hinted to PeopleStyle in an interview that she was anticipating a major chop in her future — but did we think she’d actually shave it all off? Not quite.

“I’m gonna look different in a month,” she said of her cut, which is for a movie that she’s filming this summer. “I’m cutting all my hair off and dyeing it — cutting as in a Ruby Rose cut. This is gonna be my first transition in not rocking long hair.”

And now that the shaved head photos are finally in, Gina looks like an even bigger badass than we ever could have imagined. Is there any style this girl can’t pull off?
