Lifestyle Style Gina Rodriguez Proves 'There is No One Definition of Beautiful' with Her New Naja Lingerie 'Nude For All' Campaign With the brand's "Nude For All" campaign women of all shades can finally find the skin-tone bra of their dreams By Emily Kirkpatrick Published on May 23, 2016 06:46 PM Share Tweet Pin Email For many years, the term “nude,” in fashion, has meant a super-specific shade of off-white bisque. But in recent years, designers have been coming around to the fact that not everyone’s “nude” is the same — and that women of all skin tones should be able to find their own perfect-match “nude,” whether it’s to layer discreetly under a sheer top or to show off your legs to their best effect. One brand ready to redefine the term? Gina Rodriguez and Catalina Girald’s Naja lingerie line, which is kicking off their “Nude For All” collection today. Courtesy Naja It’s taken until 2016, but the strict definition of nude is slowly starting to change, from Christian Louboutin’s versatile collection of heels and flats to Mahogany Blues‘ all-inclusive dance apparel. And now Naja is introducing a seven-tone “Nude For All” collection, with the aim to make “nude a reality for all women.” As the brand’s co-founder Catalina Girald said in a press release for the campaign, “I didn’t want it to be about singling out one specific race, ethnicity or color. It is about equality and it need to be about every person.” Courtesy Naja RELATED VIDEO: VIDEO: Ariel Winter Defends Showing Off Her Breast Reduction Scars at the SAG Awards RELATED PHOTOS: 10 Reasons Ariel Winter Is a Disney Princess IRL Courtesy Naja In an interview with People from earlier this year, actress and co-founder of the brand Gina Rodriguez said, “In societal norms, I don’t have the ‘perfect’ body, and yet I feel like it is, and I feel like I can rock whatever I damn well please. So, it was important for me to bring that perspective into the company — to bring awareness that you don’t have to have any specific body type to wear lingerie or feel sexy as hell in it. All women own it, and all women should own it.” Rodriguez wanted to convey to the women wearing her bras that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, she continued: “There is no one definition of beautiful, so do not live up to the standards of someone else. Ultimately, you are the one who must love your body. No one else.” But it certainly makes it a whole lot easier to love your body when it’s clad in some beautiful, perfectly coordinated lingerie that finally matches your actual skin tone.
