Gigi Hadid's 7 Style Rules to Live By
HAVE A GO-TO LOOK
"I'm super-last-minute when it comes to putting together outfits. But 'Keep it simple' and 'Don't try to overdo it' have become my mantras. That's why most of the time my look starts with jeans and a T-shirt, then I add to it with statement pieces, like shoes or bags."
MAKE IT PERSONAL
"I'm crazy obsessed with monogrammed pieces. I always see articles that say, 'Gigi is so into the monogram trend,' and I am because it feels so personal. Right now my favorite is the Stuart Weitzman boot that I designed, which says Gigi on the sole."
INTEGRATE METALLICS INTO YOUR LOOK
"I feel like silver matches with everything. Even though it's shiny, it blends in and it's not that flashy. You can dress the color up or down. I even made one of my boots [the Gigi Boot for Stuart Weitzman] in a chrome hue. It really goes with everything."
EMBRACE STATEMENT OUTERWEAR
"The secret to finding the perfect coat is to find one that makes you smile when you look at it, whether it's because of a bright color or an embellishment. If it sparks something in you, then it can spark something in whoever is checking out your outfit and maybe inspire them too."
CARRY SHADES EVERYWHERE
"I hoard sunglasses. I have about 300 pairs. I love trying out new shapes and switching it up. Right now I'm really into tiny retro ones, and I actually stole a lot from my mom's [Yolanda Hadid] collection! They make an outfit."
"Sometimes people are prone to thinking they should choose one look and stick to it. But I like to explore different sides of my style, which you see a lot in my line for Tommy Hilfiger [shown]. If you embrace different inspirations, it's just a lot more fun."
"I like to layer necklaces. I wear a lot of Jacquie Aiche jewelry and lots of chokers. There such a fun accessory."
