Gigi Hadid may have called it quits from Zayn Malik, but that’s not going to stop her from doing what generations of young stars have done for years and years: Assembling her squad, putting on her best “I’m over you” outfit and hitting the Hollywood hotspot of the moment. And where that once meant a going-out top and a trip to Les Deux, these days, it means high-waisted sheer pants, a cropped concert tee and a trip to The Nice Guy. Oh, and your friends all have to match you.
Accompanied by fellow supermodel Kendall Jenner, the duo hit the town in a couple of outfits that are nothing short of head-turning. After all, what says “Oh, that guy?” more clearly than a for-models-only ensemble that will have people dropping their drinks as you pass?
The formula starts with a vintage tee from a concert tour predating their birth years — Kendall’s in a ZZ Top “Afterburner” shirt from 1985, while Gigi’s sporting a Rolling Stones tee from 1974, both by Janey Lopaty Vintage — flipped up to become a crop top. (Kendall takes it up a notch by layering hers over her current favorite Anine Bing bralette.)
Next up: The semi-insane sheer pants portion. Gigi chose to go a more fitted route, wearing a pair of skinny trousers lined only on the inner legs and hips and sheer everywhere else, plus a visible hook-and-eye front closure. Chunky boots and a long pendant (which looks suspiciously like her Z pendant … hmm, sending coded messages to her ex?) completed her ensemble. Her BFF also wore sheer bottoms in solidarity, but she chose to go for a pair of pleated lamé Talbot Runhof palazzo pants (you know, the ones every 20-year-old has lying around in her closet) over black briefs, and opted for a choker rather than a pendant.

And of course, since every “I’m over you” outfit needs a “I didn’t even try to look this good” component, both girls chose to wear their hair in messy parted ponys, and didn’t add much makeup besides their signature dewy glow and bold brows.
Not content to just stop there, Kendall also showed her support to her best “butt-y” with a “party pants” Boomerang:
And a moody black-and-white selfie:
This kind of squad style solidarity is sure to get any girl through a bad breakup (and the ensuing post-split song that’s sure to come). All that’s left to do is wait to see what matching outfits Taylor Swift orders up for her crew for her big “I’m Over Calvin Harris” outing.
What do you think of their outfits?
