No, that blinding flash you experienced Saturday night was not a shooting star or meteor shower. Rather, it was just Gabrielle Union’s newest accessory twinkling in the light. After all, it’s the size of a small planet and can likely be seen from outer space — and now we’ve got some more information about it, courtesy of jeweler Jason Arasheben, CEO of Jason of Beverly Hills.

The jeweler worked closely with Union’s longtime love Dwyane Wade to design the perfect ring for the actress, settling on an 8.5-carat cushion-cut stunner, valued at nearly $1 million. And judging by her reaction (seen in Arasheben’s Instagram photo, below) it was worth all the effort.

“I made three separate personal visits to Miami to present different options until we found the perfect stone,” Arasheben tells PEOPLE of working with the Miami Heat guard. “He had been planning it for months and was very particular to find the stone of her dreams.” According to an Arasheben source, Wade was “100% of the process — he worked with Jason to pick the perfect ring.”

Though the couple hasn’t confirmed whether they’ll be using Arasheben for the wedding rings, we have a strong suspicion that Union wouldn’t have it any other way, judging by this Tweet: “Maaaaaannn… I’m floatin! Thank you SO much for all the love, well wishes & support!” (Not to mention this one: “And yes my hands were ashy… And yes my nails arent done… I was truly caught off guard but happy nonetheless ? lmao #ashyknucklesbringgoodluck” — gotta love her for keeping it real!)
