This summer’s hottest beauty trend (seen all over Hollywood red carpets( is super dewy, glowy skin. Your fave celebs — Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Gigi Hadid, Jennifer Lopez — have all been rocking the luminescent look since spring, but now it’s time to take the sun goddess-inspired makeup trick from the red carpet to the backyard this Fourth of July.

Whether you’re spending your holiday outdoors by the grill or inside in the A.C. (we don’t blame you!), we’ve got three beauty products to help you get glowy before it’s time for the fireworks: bronzer, luminizer and hydrating mist.

First and foremost, if you’ve ever wanted to create that famous J.Lo glow, you’ll need a heavy-duty, long-lasting bronzer with a hint of highlighter to add some color to your cheekbones (and to fake that tan you’ve been meaning to even out!). (We like Physicians Formula’s Argan Wear Ultra-Nourishing Argan Oil Bronzer or Urban Decay’s Naked Flush palette.) To apply (after foundation and concealer, of course), simply swipe on the tinted powder with a kabuki brush (like Too Faced’s retractable version) to the top of your cheekbones, forehead, jawline and slightly down the neck for a truly goddess-y glow.

But we’re not quite done! To give the bronzer a more radiant glow, add some sparkle! Once the bronzer is set, take your favorite highlighter (or illuminzing product), like Josie Maran’s Argan Enlightment Illuminizer or RMS Beauty’s Living Luminizer, to the tops of your cheekbones up to the tip of the occipital bone. And then add small touches of the sparkly ingredient down the straight of your nose and the middle of your chin, where the light will reflect to create the ultimate glow.

And since you’ll probably be hanging outdoors all day, your dewy complexion might quickly turn into a sweaty mess. (It could happen, trust us.) So to avoid looking like you just got back from running a half marathon (when really, you just walked to the fridge and back), keep a small hydrating mist (like these beauty editors faves, Tatcha’s Luminous Dewy Skin Mist or Olivine’s Love + Roses Beauty Mist) in your bag for quick spritzes to help cool off and refresh your look throughout the night.
