Fashion Police's George Kotsiopoulos Reveals His SAGs Best Dressed List

Who made his list? Find out!

He may not be as tough a critic as his co-star Joan Rivers, but E! Fashion Police‘s George Kotsiopoulos always has something to say about what the stars are wearing. And the stylist is telling us what he really thought about the fashion at Sunday night’s SAG Awards.

Though there were plenty of gorgeous gowns on the red carpet, Kotsiopoulos, who is also a Suave Beauty spokesman, noted that very few stars took a major risk. His explanation: “Sometimes it’s better to play it safe and not too trendy, because if you win, you don’t want to look back at the picture and say, ‘What the hell was I wearing?'” Kotsiopoulos tells PEOPLE.

Check out his five best dressed celebs of the night (which happen to overlap with some of ours!), and be sure to roll over each image to get details on the star’s gown and accessories.
Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen
: “It’s all effortless — the big [Water by Harry Winston] diamond necklace, her gorgeous skin and the dress,” Kotsiopoulos says. “She’s a movie star — tried and true.”
Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture
: “There’s been so many strapless dresses on the red carpet recently,” he explains. “And it’s obviously strapless, but it’s also effortless. It’s like a dress over a dress — and it’s definitely much more simple [than her Golden Globes gown] which was very editorial.”
Anne Hathaway in Giambattista Valli Haute Couture
: “It’s easier for a girl with short hair to dress sexier and edgier, and here she is straddling that line of edgy and classic with the [mixture of] the sheer and the tea length.”
Nicole Kidman in Vivienne Westwood Couture
: “Navy was a really big trend tonight,” the stylist says (we agree!). “And I say this a lot about Nicole, but when she gets it — she gets it. She nailed it. And I especially love her hair.”
Amanda Seyfried in Zac Posen
: And while he notes Seyfried hit two big trends of the night in her navy, strapless creation, it was her long pendant that caught his eye, saying, “She brought her own style with that Lorraine Schwartz necklace.”
