Kaley Cuoco had a major first on the Golden Globes red carpet Sunday night: her first bold lip at an awards show.

“It was Kaley’s idea,” makeup artist Jamie Greenberg says of the Big Bang Theory star’s deep plum lip (mark’s Make It Rich lip color crayon in “Royale,” to be exact). “We wanted to take a risk tonight. Our inspiration was ethereal vamp.”

To prep Cuoco’s complexion, Greenberg used mark’s Get a Tint tinted moisturizer with the brand’s Save the Day concealer. She used Just Pinched instant blush tint in “Berry” and “Cheeky,” blended together for effect, then set the skin with mark’s Set Things Right loose powder.

Greenberg then created what she called a “layered eye,” starting with mark’s Keep It Going longwear eyeliner in “Naturalist,” adding shimmer from mark’s Touch & Glow shimmer cream cubes. She used No Place to Run eyeliner in “Ultra Violet” on both the top and bottom lashlines, and traced the waterlines with i-mark shadow in “Plum Velvet.” Greenberg finished Cuoco’s eyes with fake lashes, coating them with Lash All You Want mascara in “Wine” for dramatic effect.

The bold plum hues worked well for the star, since her hair is so light and her dress was that barely-there blush. For having a first Sunday night, we’d say Cuoco looked like a pro. Tell us: Do you like the actress’s strong makeup?
