Eva Longoria and Victoria Beckham are confirmed besties. After all, when the notoriously straight-faced designer christens you an honorary Spice Girl it really doesn’t get much more official. So, of course, when the Telenovela star announced her engagement to Jose Antonio Baston, rumors quickly started to fly that there could be only one logical choice to design the actress’s wedding gown.

But according to the newly betrothed fiancée herself, anyone counting on her getting married in a VB original shouldn’t hold their breath just yet. On her appearance on
The Wendy Williams Show
on Tuesday, Longoria confessed that she’d actually love to skip the pomp and circumstance of the whole affair, saying, “I’m advocating for eloping. I don’t know if I’m going to get away with that though.” The former Desperate Housewife also addressed the big day dress designer rumors, insisting that she has no gown plans as of now. “I don’t know,” she says, “I haven’t given it one thought, but it is in the news that she is. I haven’t even talked to Victoria about it.”

The designer’s PR seconded this statement, saying “Victoria Beckham does not produce wedding dresses and has no current plans to expand the collection to include bridal wear.” But just because Beckham doesn’t have plans to start her own eponymous wedding gown collection doesn’t necessarily mean she wouldn’t be willing to do a major favor for a personal friend. Besides, we can already imagine a whole slew of white looks from the runway that would look just as at home at Longoria’s nuptials.
