If the dresses seen on Scandal’s Kerry Washington, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt‘s Ellie Kemper, and Dancing With The Stars’ Julianne Hough seemed especially fresh, that’s for a good reason: They all were pulled right off the models from New York Fashion Week, which took place, oh, three days ago.

Washington, who is always impeccably dressed, stepped out onto the red carpet in a dramatic metallic mesh Marc Jacobs dress, which made its first runway appearance last week during Marc Jacobs’ Spring 2016 Ready-to-Wear show. (Guess it really is ready to wear!)

Washington was quick to point out that not only is the beaded dress beautiful, but it was quite functional on the sweltering red carpet. “I’m wearing a couture screen door,” she told PeopleStyle, noting that the mesh panels and sleeves helped cool her down. As Washington told Ryan Seacrest: “I feel the breeze in all sorts of places!”

Hough, who received a Creative Arts Emmy for her work on Dancing With the Stars, went for an edgier look from Marchesa, a stunning tulle and lace creation with a skin-showing bodice and A-line gown, topped with a simple headband. And it was no surprise, considering that she hinted to reporters she might be shopping for a red carpet look at Wednesday’s show. Say Marchesa co-founders Georgina Chapman & Keren Craig, “Julianne selected this look straight off our Spring 2016 runway this week. We are excited for her to wear the collection for its red carpet debut!”

Kemper’s Naeem Khan was customized for her from the designer’s Wednesday show — she sported a sleeveless version (wise, for the heat!) of a beaded gown the designer showed on the runway Wednesday. (Front row attendee Christina Hendricks also wore a piece the designer!)

But topping them all for hot-off-the-presses currency? Jaimie Alexander, whose multi-colored, sequined Armani Privé gown hadn’t even been seen on a model yet. “They just trusted me to wear it. When they sent it to me I said ‘Done, it covers all the leftover residual tattoo stuff,” from her show Blindspot.
