Elizabeth Olsen Gets First Dibs on All Mary-Kate and Ashley's Designs (Cue Intense Jealousy)
Elizabeth Olsen has really come into her own as a red carpet standout so it’s easy to forget she comes from a family of very, very stylish siblings. Her older sisters, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, are being honored tonight at the CFDA Fashion Awards (for the fifth time!) for their fashion label, The Row. And if you’re wondering, yes, Elizabeth gets first picks on all the merch!
PeopleStyle caught up with the actress at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in N.Y.C. on Saturday, where the Burberry-dressed star shared all the perks of being related to fashion designers: free clothes — and shoes! “I just got a shipment,” she gushed. “It’s really great; I feel very lucky. They’re amazing and so comfortable and really cool.”
And being the proud sister she is, she had to give them praise for their two CFDA Award nominations. “They’re nominated for two CFDA awards this year for accessory and for designer this year and so it’s really exciting,” she said.
Aside from good taste, she’s leaving the design skills to her sisters. When asked about her styling tips and tricks, she doesn’t know many specifics. “I wish I knew more about silhouettes! I don’t. I like black and white and navy.”

But attending as many red carpet events as she does, she has picked up one thing — it’s important to know how to “hide yourself” with tape, she said, gesturing to her chest.
She’s been known to criticize red carpet dresses telling
, “The clothes we’re expected to fit into aren’t sizes; they’re samples. They’re not made for chicks with boobs, so I’m very self-conscious about having them.”
Good thing she happens to have two award-winning designers on speed dial!
