Dressing up as a devil for Halloween might seem like one of the most typical costumes imaginable — but with the right makeup, it’s easy to take it to the next level. And that’s just what Sephora PRO Makeup Artist Karoline Karakeosian did when she showed us how to get the spooky-meets-glam Halloween makeup look for our “How It’s Done” series.

To get the look in the video, Karakeosian first applies red cream eye shadow to the eyelids, smudging it from the inner corners to the brows. Then, she uses a matching red eyeliner to line the bottom lash lines, and smudges it with a firm eye shadow brush to give it a dramatic feel. Next, she lines the lash lines with the same eyeliner, and adds a burgundy shadow above the crease, before adding a beige hue at the inner corners to create a smoky red look.

To make the eyes pop even more, Karakeosian applies false eyelashes, and exaggerates the brows, using an eyebrow pencil to draw an upward-curved shape at the inner edges.

The finishing touch: A bold red lip layered with glitter.
