British fashion designer Stella McCartney is taking major heat from fans after posting a controversial photo to her Instagram account yesterday.

The photo, below, caught by the Daily Mail, depicted a very slender model wearing the brand’s exclusive tank for its Spring/Summer 2015 collection and was captioned: “Worn well!!! X Stella.”

Many fans immediately took to the comment section, leaving messages of disappointment and disgust, and accusing McCartney of choosing what fans felt to be an unhealthy-looking woman to showcase the brand.

Since then, the designer has removed the image and replaced it with a photo of model Malaika Firth wearing the same top. After the image swap, fans began commenting with praise for the new photo, below.

McCartney and her team also apologized for the image, releasing this statement: “We are a house that celebrates all shapes, all sizes, all races and all ages. We should have been more mindful … It was a quick snap done backstage that was misleading. We listened to our followers and we took it down and replaced it. We can only apologise if we offended anyone.”
