Cali cool girl Whitney Port successfully transitioned from reality TV star to fashion designer, creating her own contemporary clothing line, Whitney Eve. But her California-inspired collection isn’t the star’s only project these days. The Hills alumna is also planning her upcoming nuptials to fiancé Tim Rosenman. And her most recent wedding-related decision? How she’ll wear her hair on the big day.

With the wedding around the corner (she wouldn’t tell us the exact date), the 30-year-old star is focusing on prepping her tresses while narrowing down her wedding-day look. Thanks to British celebrity hairstylist Mark Hill it seems the star may have found her go-to bridal do.

“The [master styling class] is really good prep. I haven’t picked a style yet, but I have an idea,” she told PEOPLE at the Mark Hill Master Styling Class in N.Y.C. “I think that it’ll be a surprise for everyone, but I feel like it’s definitely going to be something very reflective of me: easy, loose, casual, wearable. It’s more for my fiancé, who sees me for the first time, so I want it to be a surprise.”

Perhaps the star will go with a similar style to the one she tried out during the class — a half-up, half-down waterfall plait. (See the star’s braided do, below.)

Along with testing out a number of dos before making her style decision, Port is also keen on keeping her blonde tresses hydrated up until her big day.

“An overnight [hair] mask (like the Mark Hill MiracOILicious 2-Minute Intensive Treatment) is really good because sometimes when you put on a mask, you don’t have the patience to leave it in,” she said. “So you just put it on, go to sleep and it gets the job done.”

With so many celebs chopping their locks immediately after saying “I do,” we had to ask Port if she’d be following suit and joining fellow The Hills co-star and BFF Lauren Conrad on the bob bandwagon.

“Maybe, but at this point I feel like I’m growing it out a bit, so we’ll see,” she told PEOPLE. “You never know, from one day to the next, I have a different idea [about my hairstyle].”

Aside from being in the midst of wedding planning, the star also has a few fun fashion projects in her future.

“I have my clothing line Whitney Eve, and its summer collection will be out at the end of May at Nordstrom and in the mall,” she told PEOPLE.

She added that there’s another line in the mix for fans to look out for: “I also have a collection with QVC coming out, and I’m going on air on July 20 [to announce it],” she said. “It’s similar in the design esthetic [than Whitney Eve], but at a more affordable, inexpensive price point.”
