Cindy Crawford Joins Her '90s Supermodel Squad for Amazing Reunion Project
It’s been two decades since Cindy Crawford, 49, and crew (Karen Alexander, 43, Eva Herzigova, 42, Helena Christensen, 46, Tatjana Patitz, 49, and Nadja Auermann, 44) ruled editorial spreads, but the iconic supermodels are coming together again for a new project with famed fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh. And — wait for it — they’ve barely aged at all.

Crawford and Lindbergh both teased the project, titled “The Reunion,” on Instagram, prompting followers to check out the director’s cut on nowness.com. It features a behind-the-scenes video with Crawford praising Lindbergh for his ability to see the beauty in a “mature woman” and his skill of being able to “add to their beauty.” The four-minute-long clip shows the photographer snapping away at the supermodels both individually and in a group as they model sleek dresses, comfy sweaters and oversize furs.
They chat about iconic ’90s fashion shoots and discuss the photos with Lindbergh. (And if you’re thinking Crawford’s Instagram snap of the models wearing white robes is a recreation of Lindbergh’s iconic “white shirt” editorial for Vogue in 1988, Crawford clarifies, “I wasn’t at the white shirt shot.”)
Recently, Crawford was featured in Vogue‘s September issue, in which she opened up about aging. “There are days — not up here [her Ontario lake home], thankfully — when I feel I need to deliver that Cindy Crawford thing,” she shares. “But I’ve gained so much confidence with age. That’s something I never felt early on, even if my generation of models was paid to radiate it — the shoulder pads, glamazon, hair out to there, boobs up to here. It would have been nice to have all that confidence in my 20-year-old body.”
Based on the stripped-down, black-and-white shots by Lindbergh, Crawford looks like she’s completely in command of that new confidence.
