The Met Gala red carpet is always filled with models, but icon Cindy Crawford put the super in supermodel Monday wearing a metallic gown that proves once again why she’s a forever style muse for the fashion industry.

Crawford, 50, dipped her toe into the tech theme thanks to the metal vibes of her silver, body-hugging, sheer-paneled Balmain design, teamed with statement geometric drop earrings. She starred alongside her ’90s supermodel squad (Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer) in Olivier Rousteing’s Spring/Summer 2016 campaign for the brand, so it makes sense that she’s wearing a gown by the French fashion house. She kept it sleek in the hair department with a center-parted blowout and went for a nude-lip-smoky-eye makeup moment.

Coincidentally, the lip color was created by non other than supermodel Kate Moss (as part of her lipstick collection with Rimmel London). The exact shade? “Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss in #045,” says her makeup artist Jo Baker, who reveals her makeup inspiration was “a futuristic mermaid! Her gown had these silvery scales, so I complimented it with radiant skin, plus soft, smoky pink eyes and a pinky-nude lip.”
And she looked so good, that her glam squad (including hairstylist Ward Stegerhoek) couldn’t help but to share BTS photos of the star getting ready, including an amazing video of Crawford’s signature “Met Shake.”

We’re still hoping Crawford’s model-in-the-making daughter, Kaia, makes her debut at the Met. The 14-year-old has already graced the pages of Vogue and nabbed a ton of her own campaigns, so it’s only a matter of time until she attends fashion prom. And her mom would make the perfect date.
