This week's episode of Project Runway has the toughest challenge yet

On Thursday night’s episode of Project Runway, the contestants are really put to the test.

In a daring new challenge, competitors are tasked with creating a custom design out of “unconventional materials” in lieu of traditional fabrics. And designer Kovid appears to be getting extra creative with this materials, which range from cowhides to yoga mats!

Season four winner (and one of the hottest designers in Hollywood right now) Christian Siriano didn’t hold back when it came to sharing his thoughts on Kovid’s process.

In the exclusive clip above, the newest mentor on the competition show is joined by celebrity stylist Marni Senofonte (whose clients include Kendall Jenner and Beyoncé) as they take in Kovid’s vision and offer up some advice.

“What are all the different materials you’re using?” asks Siriano. “So for the sleeves, I use this,” Kovid says grabbing the yoga mat. “A yoga mat,” Senofonte says skeptically.

The aspiring designer went on to show Siriano and Senofonte the rest of the items he would be using to bring his couture look to life. And the celeb-loved designer gave some critical feedback. “There’s a lot of elements. So, I don’t know if we need everything. Dream on it,” he told Kovid.

Though the contestant has high hopes that his design will be a hit, Siriano insisted that he will only make it to the end if his piece comes out “finished” and “amazing.”

Going on its 17th run, this season of Project Runway delivers bigger creative challenges than ever before and a new cast, including Karlie Kloss as host, new judges Brandon Maxwell and journalist Elaine Welteroth, and Christian Siriano as a mentor. The show also featured its first transgender model in the premiere episode.

Watch Project Runway on Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo.
