Iconic actress Catherine Deneuve is a Cannes Film Festival mainstay: She has been attending the event since the 1960s. And even after half a century of hitting the red carpet, she’s still bringing the glam. When she stepped out at the festival’s opening ceremony and the premiere of her new film, Le Tête Haute, we experienced a little Deneuve déjà vu.
The 71-year-old star stunned in a black-and-fuchsia long-sleeve floor-length gown, which she pulled together with a wide black belt. She paired the drapey dress with simple black pumps, a modern spin on her signature bouffant, and delicate diamond jewels.
And in 1966, the star opted for a short-sleeve column dress with a sparkly spin on French New Wave-era stripes and ladylike opera gloves, plus, a sweet bow headband that gives just a hint of an ingénue vibe. But the most timeless elements of Deneuve’s looks from then and now? Her stellar smile and regal wave.
The star has definitely managed to stay stylish through the years (check out her rainy-day chic look from 1964, above). We’re already looking forward to what she pulls off at next year’s event!
