People Editorial Guidelines Published on November 14, 2014 11:04 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Success on Broadway is all about following your instincts — and it turns out stage star Sutton Foster used the same approach while searching for the perfect wedding dress. “I knew that it made me ‘feel’ different,” she tells PEOPLE of the gown she ultimately selected as the cameras rolled for Say Yes to the Dress, for an episode that premieres Friday. “I felt very confident and knew that it was the first dress I had tried on that felt ‘right.’ ” Courtesy TLC (2) Foster, 39, who wed screenwriter Ted Griffin last month in Santa Barbara, California, says she had a “direction” she was going in when she walked into the famed Manhattan bridal shop — non-traditional, airy, light and natural — “but I was truly open to anything.” “Kleinfeld was great cause it had such a HUGE selection, but that also made it more overwhelming,” says Foster, who can be seen smiling (and singing!) as she tries on her first dress inside the shop.
