Brie Larson Points Out Her Pimple on the Red Carpet, Plus 5 More Reasons Why She Is All of Us

Brie Larson may be an Oscar-winning star with multiple memorable red carpet moments to her name, but one glance at her Instagram indicates she’s also a totally normal girl with a good sense of humor about her larger-than-life status.

See, for example, her most recent post. Who among us hasn’t gone over-the-top trying to zap a zit, only to find out you’ve made it way worse? Brie feels your pain — and draws attention to it on Instagram. Delighted? Just wait ’til you see even more of her posts that prove the star has truly been one of us all along.

1. She Suffers from the Occasional Blemish
Being a celebrity means you don’t get to call out sick when you’ve got a red carpet to walk. So when an occasional breakout occurs (and yes, it will because, hello, celebs are humans, too), you can either pose with one side of your face to the camera at all times, or you can embrace the awkwardness, which is exactly what Larson did Monday evening.

“When you’re stressing/obsessing over a zit so you put on too much zit cream before bed and wake up to giant dry spot but you gotta get your photo taken anyway ???,” she wrote in an Instagram.

2. She’s Had Some Questionable Styles Over the Years
Larson gives us #TBT goals each week with her hilarious reviews on her own throwback style. Case in point: Her denim-on-denim look from The Powerpuff Girls Movie premiere in 2003.

“#tbt circa 2002 – “The Powerpuff Girls Movie” Premiere. Everything about this outfit makes a LOT of sense. Note: I embellished the jean skirt and blazer with iron-on patches from Hot Topic. World, you’re welcome. ?”

3. …and She’s Not Afraid to Poke Fun at Them
“I don’t remember the film ‘Good Bye’ but I did attend the premiere in flip flops, camo capris and a Von Dutch hat — for that I am forever grateful. #fbf,” she captioned the snapshot. From the Von Dutch trucker hat to the low-slung camo pants, the abs-baring look was pure 2000s style gold. (We wonder which of her awards seasons styles will get the same TBT treatment 10 years down the road.)

4. She Doesn’t Get Glam for International Flights
Let’s be real here: Not all of us (okay, most of us who aren’t Victoria Beckham) can depart a plane looking our best. Unlike some supermodels, we don’t pack separate outfits for our walk to baggage claim. And Larson appears to be in camp “struggle is real.”

“How does one look fresh and beautiful after an international flight?,” she asked after being snapped post-flight in an airport. “I’m asking for a friend.”

5. She Had Bangs — and Didn’t Know How to Style Them
You know that time in middle school where you thought bangs would be an amazing idea, and immediately realized how wrong you were? So does Larson.

“Bangs on fleek at the Big Fat Liar premiere. Thanks Mom! #tbt,” she said.

Bonus: She’s Not Sure What to Do with Her Hands
“Pretty sure my arms are doing it wrong. #fbf,” she captioned a throwback photo, in which she’s folding her arms awkwardly in front of her body, from her earlier red carpet days. Hey, it beats a giant zit, we guess?
