The call to #BoycottBeyonce has reemerged. And this time Beyoncé is leading the charge.

Queen Bey’s Formation world tour kicked off Wednesday in Miami, and among merchandise sold at the highly anticipated opening night were t-shirts donning the words “BOYCOTT BEYONCÉ,” according to
USA Today
.

“Beyoncé selling official #BoycottBeyonce merchandise is the most iconic thing that’s happened this decade,” one Twitter user wrote alongside a photo of a tee and phone case.

Another Twitter user posted: “Bey has included ‘Boycott Beyonce’ in the Formation Tour’s official merch. I love Pettyoncé just as much as Slayoncé.”

The move appears to be a response to backlash the 34-year-old megastar received earlier this year as some called her “Formation” music video and subsequent Super Bowl 50 halftime show performance an attack on police.

The “Don’t Hurt Yourself” singer was virtually silent amid the criticism, but she told
Entertainment Tonight
after her Super Bowl performance that she wanted her single, “Formation,” to make people “feel proud” and “have love for themselves.”

Ever the overcomer, it appears Beyoncé has turned lemons into lemonade, with some social media users hailing Beyoncé’s decision to sell the t-shirts as a strategic marketing tool.

“Beyoncé confirms that she isn’t just a pretty face by making money from the #BoycottBeyonce t-shirts as merchandise,” one user wrote on Twitter.
