Liam Hemsworth may not be Billy Ray Cyrus’ official son-in-law just yet, but it seems that their relationship has already grown to be very close. Like, clothes-borrowing close.

Miley Cyrus‘ father looked dapper as always during an appearance on Harry Connick Jr.’s talk show, Harry, on Friday. But the country icon soon revealed that his outfit was all thanks to his daughter’s fiance’s closet. — and no, Hemsworth was not yet aware that the shirt was missing from his wardrobe.

“I think if you bring something back you didn’t really steal it. I kind of borrowed it from Liam Hemsworth,” he told Connick Jr. of the black shirt he was wearing on the show. “He didn’t know though and he doesn’t know. I happened to be getting ready to come up and do this show and there was a clean shirt there.”

And he doesn’t plan on telling him about the borrowed item, either. Cyrus told Connick Jr. that the shirt would be going right back where it came from as soon as he left the studio.

“I sweat through four layers of clothes and Liam’s t-shirt was the last thing I had left. So I’ve got to finish this show, fly back home and go put it in his closet so he doesn’t know it’s gone.”

No shame in that game, Billy Ray. We’d borrow his shirt too.
