Boogie on down -- Beyoncé style!
Beyoncé took it back for her 35th birthday, decades back to be exact.
As fans and celebrities alike took to the Internet to send well wishes the singer’s way on her birthday on Sunday (unofficial National Beyoncé Day), Queen Bey gathered with some of her closest friends and family on Monday in New York City for a ’70s-themed celebration packed with afros, bell-bottom pants and a lot of glitter.
The party comes after news that the “Hold Up” singer has postponed the New Jersey stop of her Formation World Tour. According to Met Life Stadium announced the show has been moved from Sept. 7 to Oct. 7 “as a result of strict doctor’s orders for vocal rest.”
The star-studded soirée seemed to pose no threat to the Bey’s vocal chords, though, as the singer spent a majority of the night dancing — taking to a Soul Train line along with her guests during the evening.
In true Beyoncé fashion, the star flaunted two looks at the get down. She arrived with husband Jay Z wearing a cleavage-flaunting, tan, wrap-around top with shorts and gold high heels. Once inside, she slipped into a shiny, colorful one-legged jumpsuit.
“We got soullllll,” Bey’s Protégés Chloe x Halle captioned a photo of their 70s looks. And former Destiny’s Child groupmate Michelle Williams dared to bare her abs (and her soul) in a custom sequin Tyler Wells jumpsuit. “Hd to come ALL the way through for 🐝’s Soul Train themed party!!,” she wrote.
P. Diddy pulled out all the fashion stops for the party, wearing white, floral-print flares with a sheer black shirt and a wig. His girlfriend Cassie kept it a bit more casual in a metallic, long-sleeve mini dress.
The party was a family affair for Solange Knowles, who took to the bash with her son Daniel Julez and husband Alan Ferguson.
Chance the Rapper gushed about his “TT” (or “auntie”) in a Twitter post writing, Happy bday TT! You are so good to me!” He included a photo of himself alongside the singer.
