Ordinarily, celebrities prefer to avoid being seen in the same styles, but occasionally a trend comes along that even supermodels of the moment including Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Kaia Gerber can’t resist wearing immediately, comparisons be damned. Right now, that item is the newsboy cap, a longtime Kate Moss favorite that is part biker, part mod and a little retro. This hat has withstood the test of fashion time and unexpectedly made a very strong comeback this season. So much so that Bella has even been inspired to design one as part of her much-anticipated collection in collaboration with LA based brand, Chrome Hearts.
Perhaps better known as a fiddler, captain, Breton or baker boy cap, the style may not necessarily be the easiest of hats to wear, but it can be super cute if you’re daring enough to try it. “How does one style this?” you may ask. Have no fear – we’ve found quite a few that we love and that they’re actually quite versatile.

Buy It! Genie by Eugenia Kim Jessa Hat, $65; revolve.com
Retro: This cap is the perfect way to channel that ‘60s Brigitte Bardot look à la Hailey Clauson, but in order to avoid looking too costume-y, try wearing it with a faux shearling coat, your favorite jeans and some white patent boots. We love these from Marc Jacobs.
Buy It! Brixton Kayla Cap, $88; nordstrom.com
Biker: Kendall, Bella and Kaia Gerber (who’s seen wearing this exact style above) have been seen taking an edgier route and styling their caps with pieces such as denim jackets, leather skinnies or mini skirts – like this moto-style mini from Topshop.
Buy It! Maison Michel Abbey suede hat, $505; net-a-porter.com
Nautical: Try pairing one with a trench coat, cableknit sweater and sailor-inspired jeans such as these from Hudson Jeans.
Time will only tell if the “It” girl status of these ladies can give this style any staying power but for now the fashion world seems to approve.
