Bebe Rexha Receives Grammys Dress Offers After Blasting Designers for Calling Her 'Too Big'
The singer revealed that designers are unwilling to dress her based on her size
Ever since singer Bebe Rexha revealed that she was having trouble finding a red carpet dress for the 2019 Grammys because of her size, the pop star has been getting a ton of support — and design offers.
The best new artist nominee explained that she asked her team to go out to designers for custom creations to wear on her big Grammys night, but revealed that “a lot of them do not want to dress me because I’m too big.”
“You’re saying all the women in the world that are a size 8 and up are not beautiful and that they cannot wear your dresses,” she said on Instagram. “So to all the people who said I’m thick and I can’t wear your dress, f— you, I don’t want to wear your f—ing dresses.”
Ever since her Instagram video went viral, fans, celebrities and designers have commented on her post with support.
The dress designer August Getty responded to her Instagram post and offered to make her a gown. “You are beautiful! Every woman of every size is beautiful! Just let me know when I should start sketching.”
Puerto Rican designer Stella Nolasco reached out to Rexha saying, “I would love to dress you!”
Designer Tanya Taylor also left a comment, “Bebe — we would LOVE to design something custom for you!! Can we discuss?? Xx”
Designer Elizabeth Kennedy related to what Rexha was going through. “I’d love to make you a dress for the Grammys! I’m a size 8 too, and yes it is a beautiful size.”
Supermodel and body activist Emme suggested that Rexha contact 11 Honoré, an online boutique offering sizes 10-20. “Don’t even waste your energy (or take away any of your joy) on designers who don’t get it,” Emme wrote.
Many fans left comments tagging designer Christian Siriano, who is known for stepping up to help dress celebrities that other high-end brands won’t, writing, “@csiriano dress this woman asap!” and “Can @csiriano fix this?”

The “Meant to Be” singer also got support from others in the entertainment industry. Model Jillian Mercado wrote, “Never apologize for being exactly who you are babe. It’s unfortunate that these designers still believe that a size 8 is ‘too big.’ Remember these designers because one day they will be coming after you begging for you to wear their garments. And I better see your ass at the Grammys! And you’re going to look amazing as usual with a designer who respects your beautiful size.”
Adam Lambert replied with a fire emoji writing: “Say it!!!” While model Robin Lawley wrote, “Name and shame those brands hun!!”
Last year Rexha attended the 2018 Grammy Awards wearing a La Perla blush-color beaded gown from the Spring 2018 ready-to-wear collection.
She made her debut at the fashion week scene at the Jeremy Scott show, wearing a retro CD look from the collection.
And most recently, she wore a custom Coach sequin design at the 2018 CMA Awards in November.
