Beauty Products to Get You Through a Looong Winter
JERGENS BB BODY CREAM
Andrea Lavinthal, Style and Beauty Director: My arms and legs have been covered up by sweaters and tights for so long, they don’t remember what sunlight feels like. This sheer, tinted lotion is perfect when you’re at your pastiest since it adds just a hint of color. It also blurs imperfections and makes everything from stretch marks to cellulite less noticeable. Plus, it doesn’t rub off on your (four layers of) clothing.

BENEFIT SUN BEAM COMPLEXION HIGHLIGHTER
Brittany Talarico, Associate Editor: Bronzer and I are not fair-weather friends. Which is to say, I don’t just use the stuff in the summer. But I don’t want to look all Snooki-fied in the dead of winter. I just want to look healthy and glowy, and that’s where this little bottle comes into play. I apply the liquid formula on my cheekbones and brow bone over my foundation for a sun-kissed sheen.

STRIVECTIN ANTI-AGING LIP TINT
Zoë Ruderman, Senior Style Editor: I tend to go on a lip color hiatus from November to March since my lips get really dry and cracked (not a great canvas for lipstick). But the maker of my favorite moisturizers just released an insanely moisturizing lip tint that also targets fine lines and has SPF. So I no longer have to look like a White Walker-meets-prune mouth all winter.

KéRASTATE OLéO-RELAX MASQUE
Alex Apatoff, Style News Editor: There is no “good hair” season for curls – I hate them all equally. But wrestling with them every winter since I was 14 has made me kind of an expert in what works (hydration!) and what fails miserably (everything else!). This masque falls squarely in the “functional” and “bang for your buck” categories – a definite win in the eternal battle of me vs. my unruly, crispy winter curls.

PACIFICA LOTION WIPES
Zoë: I have a confession, guys. I don’t put on lotion. Like even in the winter. I hate doing it. Or, at least I did until I discovered these wipes. They’re like makeup remover towelettes, only they deposit moisture on your skin. No rubbing it in, no waiting for it to be absorbed. Plus, they smell like summer, which is a nice reminder of that far-off, lovely season when I don’t have to bother with lotion.

FRESH CRÈME ANCIENNE ULTIMATE NOURISHING HONEY MASK
Andrea: This mask smells so delicious and has the most incredible frosting-like texture that you’ll be tempted to eat it. Don’t. Apply it to damp skin and let it sit for at least 10 minutes. Your skin will be visibly smoother, plumper, glowier and sooo soft, thanks to all the pure honey packed into it (which is surprisingly non-sticky). Yes, it’s expensive, but you only need a little bit to reap the benefits.

GARDEN OF LIFE EXTRA VIRGIN COCONUT OIL
Brittany: Some people cook with this stuff; I use it as a moisturizer. Basically, I turn my bathroom into the tropics with steam from the shower, then I apply the cream all over my body. At first the consistency is pasty, but when you rub it between your hands it turns into an oil, and the smell makes you forget all about that whole Polar Vortex thing.

BEAUTYCOUNTER FACE OIL
Alex: When I read that face oil was better than moisturizer, makeup remover and skin serum combined, I chalked it up to being one of those crazy things beauty editors say. Then I tried it. It’s hydrating and smells amazing – and doesn’t feel at all greasy, like you’d think rubbing oil all over your face would. I massage it into my skin, and makeup just melts off. Plus, because it’s clear, I’m not going to bed with a full Mrs. Doubtfire thing going on. (You’re welcome, husband.)
