The women of Burkina Faso have been making shea butter for L'Occitane since the 1980s, resulting in a skill that has passed down from mother to daughter. To honor this partnership, the French beauty brand is donating 100% of their profits from their newest Solidarity Balm to support women's leadership initiatives in Burkina Faso. The nourishing balm celebrates African culture and the Burkinabe women by incorporating the hibiscus flower, a popular plant in the region, into its packaging and scent.

After watching her mom endure a life-long battle with depression, philanthropist and founder of Hope for Depression Research Foundation Audrey Gruss launched an uplifting white floral fragrance called Hope Eau de Parfum, which benefits HDRF to support groundbreaking depression research. "The U.S. fragrance market is over $4 billion annually. If Hope can reach even a small percentage of that market, think of the millions we can give to depression research and how much awareness we can raise," Gruss tells PEOPLE.
