The actress, who was inspired to get involved with ShoeDazzle through her own charitable experiences with St. Jude, chose the Arlenis, a pair of black faux leather and faux suede booties adorned with gold buckles.
“I visited their hospital a year and a half ago, and what they do for those children and the families is amazing, because it’s such a tough and stressful time, but to have a hospital that really takes care of these children, and pay for everything: treatments, housing, food for the whole family, is pretty amazing,” she tells PEOPLE. “So, I left there feeling like it was one of those life-changing moments, where I was like, ‘Any time I can give back to this place…’ because they go off of donations, is something that I will do for the rest of my life. So, I’m excited to be able to come out with this boot. I’m humungous fan of fashion and shopping, so, I’m excited to be a part of this.”
The booties she picked are even based on her own personal style. “I have a style that I wouldn’t say it’s down to one specific thing, but I like to kind of be rocker chic to chic to boho, and I feel like the shoe is very versatile,” she tells PEOPLE.
So what would Tisdale pair with the stylish shoe? “You can [pair] it with skinny jeans, an oversized sweater, a little boho dress to dress it up,” she shared. “My go-to is always my boot, because I’m not a big heels person. I love to wear heels for special occasions, but booties are my favorite.”
Tisdale also had the opportunity to work with patients in the hospital, and spent extra time with one patient in particular, Bailey, who put her own spin on the classic black boots. “One of the girls [who] I met at St. Jude, her name is Bailey, and a year and a half ago, we decorated gingerbread men around Christmas, and she actually took the shoes that I chose and she decorated them herself,” she tells PEOPLE. “And they’re really, really cute. They’re her style and personality. It was really cool how she decorated them.”
