Ashley Benson caused an uproar online after asking fans for feedback on a potential Halloween costume: Cecil the lion.

Pretty Little Liars
star first posted a photo of the gold getup — designed by lingerie retailer Yandy — Tuesday afternoon.

“Help! Can’t decide on my Halloween costume this year! What do you guys think of this Cecil the Lion costume?” she originally captioned her Instagram, according to E! News.

After commenters questioned the sensitivity of the sexy ensemble, Benson re-uploaded the image with a new caption about “this lion costume,” omitting Cecil’s name.

Why the backlash? Minnesota dentist Dr. Walter Palmer became animal lovers’ enemy No. 1 when he killed Cecil, a beloved research lion in Zimbabwe, on an illegal hunt.

But don’t start a boycott yet: Yandy’s real, $118.95 Cecil costume (which is actually skimpier than the generic jungle cat version Benson rocked), features faux fur and promotes a good cause: 20 percent of the proceeds go toward the Global Conservation Organization.
