Anne Hathaway's Wedding Dress Designer Revealed!

Valentino lets the cat out of the bag at the New York City Ballet gala in New York

And the bride will wear … Valentino!

After much speculation, it was confirmed last night by the fashion house’s founder — Valentino Garavani — that Anne Hathaway will in fact be walking down the aisle in a custom gown of his design.

Speaking to reporters at the New York City Ballet Fall Gala on Thursday night, the iconic designer revealed that he “did the dress” for Hathaway’s upcoming nuptials to fiancé Adam Shulman. He added that the two are extremely close. “She’s a very good friend of mine,” he shared. “She’s like my daughter!”

The engaged actress has previously worn — and stunned in — Valentino gowns on several occasions including the 2011 Oscars (which she hosted) and most recently, Thursday night’s New York City Ballet gala (left).

Back in December, soon after the couple announced their engagement, the designer actually hinted that Hathaway might tie the knot in one of his gowns. “I am so happy for Anne. And I would do my best creation for her,” Valentino told PEOPLE. “She’s a lovely person. She wears the clothes very, very well. So I would do something special.” Tell us: What do you think Hathaway’s Valentino wedding dress will look like?
