See one of the first photos of the star's sparkler, designed by Brad Pitt
When word got out that Angelina Jolie was wearing an engagement ring, most people’s first thought (after “Finally!”) was “Let’s see the ring!” And a first look confirms that it is, in fact, a stunner.
Jeweler Robert Procop, with whom Jolie designs her jewelry line Style of Jolie, announced that he had designed the sparkler with Jolie’s longtime love Brad Pitt (and Pitt’s rep confirmed the happy news).
“Brad had a specific vision for this ring, which he realized over a yearlong collaboration with Robert,” Procop’s team said in a statement. “He wanted every aspect of it to be perfect.”
For Pitt and Procop, “perfect” means that Jolie’s ring is made of “a diamond of the finest quality … cut to an exact custom size and shape to suit Angelina’s hand,” according to the statement; side diamonds, also of “the highest gem quality … are specially cut to encircle her finger.” Also befitting the human rights activist duo: the diamond is conflict-free.
From the first look, it appears that the ring is close in size to Beyoncé’s 18-carat sparkler in a similar emerald cut, which would suit the star to a tee. “Angelina has very classic style,” Procop told PEOPLE when their collaboration was announced — so a traditional ring is a perfect fit.
