Does N.Y.C. have enough room for two super-stylish Alamuddin sisters? We’re about to find out.

Amal Clooney’s (née Alamuddin) big sister, Tala, is in the Big Apple visiting her sister and A-list brother-in-law, and has stepped out in outfits that rival even her sister’s one-of-a-kind style. In her first look, the Singapore-based beauty covered up in a tan laser-cut trench, which she paired with loose-fitting denim, a pair of city-friendly flats and a pair of oversized shades — an Amal signature. (Do you think she borrowed them from her sis?)

Joining her family (the Clooneys, plus Ramzi and Baria Alamuddin) for dinner, the eldest sister went all white in a belted dress with an asymmetrical hem and a matching vest. But to keep her ensemble from looking too washed out (and to add a bit of edge), she added a pair of knee-high snakeskin-printed boots.

And for her latest look in N.Y.C., Tala pushed the envelope past even Amal’s bold standards, selecting a sleek leather jacket, a black fringe mini-skirt we’re fairly certain only she can pull off, cut-out heels and an eclectic Moschino crossbody shaped like a McDonald’s to-go cup.

But aside from her serious sense of style, who is Tala Alamuddin? “Tala is a wonderful mother, a fantastic friend,” a source close to the Alamuddin family told PEOPLE. “She’s full of heart. Tala is a jewel. When I speak about Tala, I feel it’s like speaking about one of my own daughters. Tala is a giver. Always caring about her children.”

So it’s no wonder the two sisters get along as well as they do. “[Tala and Amal] are very close as sisters, as friends,” the source continues. “There isn’t any rivalry, not a bit between them.”
