In all the frenzy surrounding Amal Clooney’s amazing style (she rocks red carpets, looks amazing at the airport and oh, who can forget her couture-clad wedding weekend?) it can be easy to forget that she has a pretty badass full-time job that has nothing to do with being photo-ready at all moments. It’s just that her hair makes it look like she does.

A reporter from the U.K.’s Telegraph joked that the paparazzi expected her to turn up in Versace and wondered what she made of all the style speculation.

Responded Clooney with a laugh, “I’m wearing Ede & Ravenscroft” — makers of legal robes in England since 1689. Now all we have to do is wait to see if there’s a sudden run on long black robes from Hollywood trend followers.

Is it embarrassing that Clooney has to answer fashion questions, or cool that she’s bringing attention to such important causes?
