And they wore some crazy things
Coachella is the season when stars, no matter their style persona the other 362 days of the year, go nuts at an Urban Outfitters, donning all of the head scarves, face crystals, flowy caftans, and skimpy swimsuits they can get their hands on (frequently all at once). But while many embrace the shredded denim and crochet bikinis, only a few can clam the title of “Most Coachella.”
Case in point: Whether it’s wearing high-heeled cowboy boots at the Country Music Awards or reviving Britney and Justin’s iconic denim couple moment with Riff Raff, Katy Perry is the queen of thematic dressing. And the singer’s Coachella look did not disappoint; after all, what could be a more perfect ensemble for a daydreamy day in the desert than a cloud-printed jumpsuit, baby pink double bun, and matching furry pool slides?
She also took a moment to plug her new line of matte lipsticks because, after all, if you’re a celebrity in 2016 without your own lipstick line, are you really a celebrity at all? The pop star showed off three colors from her new CoverGirl line (called Katy Kat Matte), wearing Pink Paws, Catoure, and Cosmo Kitty.
Bella Hadid went the opposite route with her Coachella look, keeping things super clean and simple, supporting her boyfriend The Weeknd in a three-piece denim ensemble. The model rocked Americana style, pairing crisp white Air Force 1 low-tops with a denim mini skirt, denim bomber jacket, and a denim bra top, just for good measure. Now that they’ve seen the beauty of ‘ship twinning, hopefully Abel and Bella will keep this matchy-matchy couple dressing going once they get back to their real lives.

And as Kylie Jenner has proven time and time again, Coachella is essentially synonymous with donning a vibrant hued wig. Bella Thorne ditched her usual shoulder-grazing red locks in favor of a neon purple bob.

The teen actress was the epitome of mishmashed Coachella style clichés, pairing her new do with a heap of necklaces, a fully fringed, sheer lace wraparound crop top, patchwork short shorts, a highly useful and necessary fanny pack, and a smattering of face crystals, naturally.
Hailey Baldwin also appears to be following the Hadid rulebook to festival fashions, in which less is more and bras are most definitely real tops. The model wore a very tiny pair of 3×1 jean shorts with a white bikini top layered under a sheer, ribbed, nude, long-sleeve shirt. In other words, the perfect way to fake a tan if you can’t find the time amongst your extensive Coachella prep to go get a spray.
And of course Vanessa Hudgens tends to dress like it’s Coachella all year round, so when it’s actually time to head to the valley the actress already has a wardrobe full of peak festival apparel. The real conundrum is choosing which boho garb to bust out. For weekend one, Vanessa went with a traditional, maximalist approach similar to that of Bella Thorne, kicking off the first day in a floral muumuu with stacks of plastic bracelets. For day two, the actress went for a woutfit centered around a pair of Forever21 distressed denim shoteralls casually clipped over one shoulder, a crochet bikini top, a denim shirt tied around her waist, and more face crystals because, of course, you can never have enough.
