If you’re in a certain age bracket, it feels like all your friends are taking their first steps towards the aisle, by popping that all-important question in increasingly complicated, yet infinitely Instagrammable ways. Adrienne Bailon may have them all beat, though, with her big reveal of her engagement to Israel Houghton.

For those not familiar with Bailon from her role as co-host on the Fox talk show The Real, then ’90s babies will surely remember all of the jams she was instrumental in creating as a founding member of 3LW and The Cheetah Girls. And a love of music is something she shares with her new fiancé, Houghton, a Christian singer/songwriter and worship leader.

To announce the big news, Bailon shared a Boomerang on her Instagram of her new jewelry in front of a shimmering Eiffel Tower while “La Vie en Rose” plays in the background, captioned simply, “You. Me. Oui.” The ring appears to be a multi-carat cushion cut diamond bordered on all sides by French pavé diamonds, and all set on a thin band.

The musician also posted a shot of his betrothed’s new bling along with a heartfelt ode to her, writing, “I have seen and felt the essence of Gods grace through the life, the kindness and the courage of this woman. I’ve seen her attacked, lied about, wrongfully accused, mocked, laughed at, and misunderstood. But, I’ve also seen the shining example of the eagle she is that rises above the cacophony of the noise of ignorants- I’m learning from her example. She loves Jesus. She loves her family. She loves people. Even the ones that don’t love her back. I pray God give me that same grace in my life. I’ve taken a giant leap of faith in asking her to share life with me forever and to give me a shot at getting it right this time… She has graciously granted my request… She said yes. Thanks Be To God. Thank you @adriennebailon for graciously loving me.”

The couple got a head start on the wedding festivities by posting a cute, smooch-y snap on the Seine. While our vote for this couple’s first dance song at their wedding is obviously “No More (Baby I’ma Do Right),” we’d also gladly settle for Tavares’ equally apropos “Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel.”
