“It almost feels like some sort of badge of honor in a weird way,” the Golden Globes presenter told Vogue about turning 40. It’s a badge she wears with grace: stays youthful with yoga – not Botox. “I think it makes women look older. Harder. The warmth in their faces goes away,” she told Elle UK. “You see women and you know they’re not young, but you can’t tell how old they are. That’s what stopped me.”

“I was awkward,” the actress has admitted of her early days in the public eye. But now, the dual Golden Globe nominee (for The Proposal and Blind Side) is a chic red carpet staple – even if she doesn’t think so. “People see me and say, ‘Oh, bless her heart. They stuck her in a dress and she just can’t seem to pull it off,’” Bullock told Harper’s Bazaar.

“I’m one of the original cougars,” boasted to USA Today (her husband David is seven years younger). Jokes aside, Cox has embraced her place in Hollywood – and nabbed a Golden Globe nomination along the way for her comedy Cougar Town. “I’m not the young one anymore. I’m not going to be the up-and-comer,” she says. “When you accept this certain thing about getting older … There’s something very freeing about that.”

Hollywood’s reigning Pretty Woman says that being happily married (to cameraman Danny Moder) with three kids has definitely impacted the kinds of roles she takes. “Who wants to see me twirling my hair, going, ‘Oh, I wish he loved me?’” told Allure of her decision to leave romantic comedies behind. (A smart decision, as she nabbed a Golden Globe nomination for her role in the spy thriller Duplicity.) “I don’t believe that somebody would go to a movie and look at me and say that I have [those romantic] problems anymore.”

She technically won’t turn 40 until May 18, but it’s impossible to talk about fab Golden Globes stars without including the two-time winner – and nominee this year! The 30 Rock , who famously lost 30 lbs. when she went on-camera at Saturday Night Live, gets sexier every year. “Because of the Greek-girl thing, I have, like, boobs and butt,” she told Vanity Fair. As a result, she jokes, “I only have two speeds – either matronly or a little too slutty. I have to be steered away from cheetah print.”

Golden Globes presenter thanks her adopted Nashville hometown for helping her stay grounded in the age-obsessed entertainment business. “I live in Tennessee, so it is slightly different than living in L.A. I just worked with Sophia Loren [in Nine], and she is so gorgeous and she has such grace,” Kidman told PEOPLE of her 75-year-old costar. “I use her as a role model.”

She’s nominated for her role as the titular character in Showtime’s Nurse Jackie, but in real life, the mom of two – who won a battle with breast cancer in 2003 – is nothing like the brittle, unsatisfied wife and mother she plays on TV. “I’m just the happiest person,” Falco says. “I’ve got my kids, my friends. I can handle anything.”

She’s still got legs that go on forever, but it’s her red hair and freckles that give the best actress nominee (for A Single Man) her signature look – and Moore even penned the Freckleface Strawberry children’s books about her experiences as a “ginger.” “There’s a great deal of solidarity we have as freckly redheads,” she says. “I’ll smile at a redhead in the street and they’ll smile back.”

Has she discovered the fountain of youth? The former just improves with age – and was even named Esquire magazine’s 2008 sexiest woman alive. But don’t expect the actress, a presenter at this year’s awards, to take the title too literally. “Sexiness is a state of mind – a comfortable state of being,” Berry told the mag. “It’s about loving yourself in your most unlovable moments.”
