Princess Mary’s Everything: Here’s what I wore on New Year’s Eve: a Madewell mini dress I spilled pizza sauce on before 9:00 p.m. Here’s what I wanted to be wearing on New Year’s Eve: a belted champagne gown, purple velvet cape, enormous glittering tiara and oodles of important royal jewels. Unfortunately, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark beat me to it and I was stuck with second-best. Maybe next year! –Alex Apatoff, Senior Style Editor
Taylor’s Blinged-Out Blazer: New Year’s Eve wouldn’t have felt complete without a glimpse of Taylor Swift‘s abs, so I’m glad the star stuck true to her signature style and wore a crop top. But she didn’t go for a swingy mini skirt on the bottom. Instead, Mother Swiftmas mixed things up in a pair of tuxedo-stripe trousers topped with a blazer that was almost as shiny as the New Year’s Eve ball. (She also got an assist from Ryan Seacrest’s overcoat when she started to freeze!) I can’t wait to see what other unexpected style stops she pulls out this year. –Brittany Talarico, Style News Editor

Iggy’s Sparkle Explosion: While I’m not surprised the Fancy rapper decided to add a little bling to her usual look for a more gestivevibe, I just can’t get behind this overly blinged-out, tassled mess. And those silver knee-high lace-up boots? I can’t. However, while her outfit was indeed questionable, her hair and makeup look was seriously on point. I love her tousled waves, shimmery eyes and subtle pink pout. But definitely not enough to change my mind about the rest of her look. –Sarah Kinonen, Editorial Assistant
