When Lady Gaga gets involved in designing a dress, you know it’s going to be over-the-top and likely not something she found in a department store. And believe it or not, that’s the case for her latest fashion venture, a flying dress named Volantis.

The singer collaborated with TechHaus (the tech branch of Haus of Gaga) on the historic design, which features a white metal bodice and six hexagon-shaped appendages floating above it. Basically, it’s a battery-powered mini spaceship.

“Volantis is essentially a vehicle,” Gaga told the audience when she unveiled the new invention at her ArtPop album release party in N.Y.C. “Although she is a vehicle, she is essentially a metaphor for me. I will be a vehicle today for their voices.”

While Gaga took flight, there were even more out-of-the-box fashion events happening across the Atlantic. Katy Perry transformed into a human prism (a nod to her new album) for a performance at the MTV EMAs in Amsterdam. The singer also took flight while wearing a glass-embellished unitard. (That was after fueling rumors thanks to the new sparkler on her ring finger.)

And over in Moscow at the Miss Universe Pageant, Miss USA Erin Brady took the stage in a bedazzled Transformers costume to demonstrate her American patriotism. As one does.

“Nothing screams national costume like the first Miss USA transformer. Embracing powerful women in a transforming country that’s made up of so much. That’s what Miss USA means to me. #missuniverse #power #strong #women” she shared on Instagram.

So which of these outfits got your eyebrows raised the highest? Tell us in the comments.
