A stunning new video shows a 22-year-old man with cerebral palsy training for the IRONMAN 70.3 competition this weekend in Florida.

The footage of Johnny Agar, who was born with cerebral palsy, is posted side-by-side with a 2016 Under Armour commercial featuring Michael Phelps titled ‘Rule Yourself.’

Agar, who attends Aquinas College, is seen studying Phelps’ training and mimicking his movements on a track and in the gym. His mother edited the video.

Phelps took notice of Agar’s incredible strength and took to social media on Wednesday to wish him luck.

“Thank you Johnny for being such an inspiration to us all. Love your version of #RuleYourself,” Phelps wrote on Twitter.

It seems the 28-time Olympic medalist even gave Agar a pep talk on the phone.

“I had an awesome chat with @MichaelPhelps just a little while ago! He gave me a pep talk for my upcoming Florida 1/2 @IRONMAN,” Agar wrote on Twitter.

Agar, who lives in Rockford, Michigan, grew up wanting to play professional sports.

His father, Jeff, was a Detroit Tigers prospect in the 1980s, and Agar has always felt drawn to athletics. Five years ago, the father-son duo began running together. They’ve since completed half marathons, marathons and triathlons.

And now, Agar will attempt the IRONMAN 70.3.
