It was the race of a lifetime – sort of.

In a hilarious Late Late Show segment, host James Corden takes on Olympic legend Usain Bolt and Owen Wilson in a 100-meter dash in the CBS Television City parking lot.

And boy, was it a nail-biter.

Corden, Bolt and Wilson lined up alongside the entire staff of The Late Late Show as they prepared for the sprint.

“Corden and Bolt – two titans of fitness – going head to head. Oh, and Owen Wilson is here too,” the announcer deadpanned.

“And the runners are taking their marks!”

No surprise, Bolt ran ahead of his competitors – easily placing first and jumping across the finish line. Owen, repping Team USA with a red, white and blue sweatband, had a false start.

And Corden, sporting a Jamaica jersey, took 20th place.

“I got the start that I wanted, I was leading right at the very beginning, I got cocky and took something off and you take something off against Usain Bolt, he’s going to blow you away … that’s what happened I’m not going to make excuses,” Wilson said, before going on to offer a litany of excuses for his performance.

“I would have liked to have been in the top 15, but it wasn’t my day. That’s the life of an athlete – hat’s the life of a professional track athlete,” Corden joked.

“Some days it comes and some days it doesn’t.”

The clip ends with Bolt looking into the camera, sporting his signature pointing poise.

“I’m the greatest … that’s what’s up!” he says. “I’m Usain Bolt!”
