Tom Brady and the Bucs Will Face Off Against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs at Super Bowl LV
Super Bowl LV will be played on Feb. 7 in Tampa, Florida
The two NFL teams vying for a chance to win the Lombardi Trophy have finally been set.
On Feb. 7, the Kansas City Chiefs will face off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Super Bowl LV in Tampa, Florida. Both teams punched their Super Bowl tickets by winning their respective championship games on Sunday.
Tom Brady and the Bucs beat the Green Bay Packers, the No. 1 team in the conference, 31-26 in Sunday's NFC championship. Brady — a six-time Super Bowl winner — will make his 10th appearance in a championship game.
Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs took on the Buffalo Bills from Arrowhead Stadium for the AFC Championship, defeating the team 38-24. The Chiefs were last year's Super Bowl champions, and with quarterback Patrick Mahomes returning from concussion protocol, the team was primed to make it to the big game for a second straight year.
Led by quarterback Josh Allen and wide receiver Stefon Diggs, the Bills went into the postseason with a 13-3 record, only behind the Chiefs' 14-2 record in the AFC.
The Bills reached the championship game by outlasting the Indianapolis Colts in the Wild Card round (27-24), then beating out the Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional playoff (17-3). Despite not making it to the Super Bowl, the Bills' playoff run was still exciting for fans — with their win against the Colts, the Buffalo team earned their first victory in the playoffs since 1995.
The Chiefs, on the other hand, went into the AFC Championship game with their eyes set on being the first team to repeat as Super Bowl champions since the 2003-04 Patriots. The Chiefs beat the Cleveland Browns to reach the championship round.
For the NFC Championship, Brady and the Bucs defeated Aaron Rodgers and the Packers at their home field.

The Buccaneers finished with a 12-5 record in their first season with 43-year-old Brady, who left his longtime home in New England during the offseason. He's been helped by his former Patriots teammate Rob Gronkowski, who also joined Tampa Bay before the start of the season.
During the playoffs, Tampa Bay trounced the Washington Football team in the Wild Card round and then took down the New Orleans Saints in what could have been Drew Brees' last game in the NFL.
But Rodgers, not to be outdone, has had a stellar season with Green Bay and looked primed and ready to make his second Super Bowl appearance.
The 16-year vet was recently named Pro Football Writers of America's Most Valuable Player for 2020 and led the Packers to a 13-3 record. The Packers easily handled the Los Angeles Rams in the divisional round of the playoffs to make it to the championship, sending L.A. home with a 32-18 loss.
Super Bowl LV will air on CBS at 6:30 p.m. EST on Feb. 7.
