The 2012 Summer Olympics are nearly here, and while organizers are hoping to keep specific details about Friday’s opening ceremony at London’s Olympic Park super hush-hush, inevitably details (and photos) are leaking out – especially in the British press. So, here’s what we know about what will go down:

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip are expected to attend the event (which will air on NBC at 7 p.m. ET), along with Kate, Prince William and Prince Harry, who will also be cheering on the British teams at various events during the games. Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle is coordinating and designing the opening ceremony, which is set to include a short film starring Daniel Craig as James Bond, according to reports. And Sir Paul McCartney has confirmed that he will be closing out the event with a performance. And, naturally, the field will be filled with the competitors and the flags of their countries as the athletes proudly march in the Parade of Nations.
