Notre Dame guard Matt Farrell thought he was only getting a video message from his brother who was deployed in Afghanistan, but he ended up with a whole lot more.

After Monday night’s game against Colgate, Farrell was treated to a special video on the jumbotron featuring his brother Bo. The crowd applauded as Bo wished the team a happy holidays and joked about his brother’s nickname when they were kids, “squirrel.”

When the video ended, with all his teammates by his side, Matt looked up to see the video wasn’t quite what it was made out to be, because his brother was there in the flesh.

The two embraced on the court, and were eventually joined by their parents, who had no idea Bo would be there.

The Irish won the game 77-62, and Farrell scored 13 points in the win, but we’re guessing the real prize was his brother.
