Michael Phelps Shares Underwater Snap with Team USA and 'Special Guest' Tony Parker
"It was awesome to see how much he loved being in the water!!!" Michael Phelps captioned the photo
If you want to hang out with Michael Phelps, you’re going to have to be willing to get wet.
That’s the lesson San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker learned on Friday as he and Spurs’ head Coach Gregg Popovich visited the U.S. Olympic swim team at the San Antonio, Texas, facility where the group is training for Rio.
On Monday, Phelps shared a snap of Parker in the pool with swimmers Allison Schmitt, Chase Kalisz, Conor Dwyer and Cierra Runge.
“Just the normal power workout!! Me @arschmitty @chasekalisz@conorjdwyer @cierrarunge and a special guest @_tonyparker09 !!!” he captioned the photo. “It was awesome to see how much he loved being in the water!!!”
Parker shared his own snap from the day – this time on dry land and with some other special guests: Popovich’s throwback “Vote for Pedro” shirt and Phelps’ epic goggles-tan.
” Great Day meeting the US swimming team in San Antonio &@m_phelps00 ! #legend #coachpop@spurs,” he captioned the photo.

Popovich, who will serve as head coach of the U.S. Olympic men’s basketball team at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, offered inspiration and encouragement to the 45-member swim team. “Good fortune is what you do,” he told the team, according to USA Swimming.
Parker will also be heading to Rio to make his second Olympic appearance for his home country of France.
