He got his World Series ring in April — and now, Anthony Rizzo is giving away a ring of his own.

Rizzo, the first baseman and a star player for the Chicago Cubs, announced his engagement to girlfriend Emily Vakos on Twitter last night.

“Luckiest guy in the world!” he wrote. “She said YES. Future Mr. & Mrs. Rizzo.”

He posted a photo of the two smiling together on a boat at sunset with the Chicago skyline in the background. On Instagram, he shared a few more photos, including one of a surprised Vakos looking at her new bling, and the couple sharing a kiss after the proposal — champagne in hand.

Rizzo’s teammates — including Dancing With the Stars runner-up David Ross — sent their congratulations.

Rizzo — who made the catch last November that won the Chicago Cubs their first World Series in 108 years — and Vakos have been inseparable for months. She accompanied him on visits to the Dancing With the Stars set to visit his teammate David Ross, they hit the red carpet at the Grammy Awards in February, and of course, Vakos was there in Cleveland to watch Rizzo and his teammates take home the World Series trophy.

It’s been a love-filled 2017 for the Cubs so far: Rizzo’s teammate Kris Bryant married his longtime girlfriend, Jessica Delp, in January. Rizzo served as a groomsman in the wedding — so it’s safe to expect that Bryant will do the same for his bud!
