The Sochi Olympics Opening Ceremony featured many striking moments, but seeing a young girl lifted high into the Fisht Olympic Stadium’s rafters was perhaps the most memorable.

Her name is Elizaveta (or Liza) Temnikova, and she’s 11 years old.

Temnikova was playing a character named Lyubov – the ceremony’s theme was “Dreams About Russia.”

Temnikova hails from Krasnodar, a town north of Sochi.

Examiner.com reports that she’s the daughter of two taxi drivers. According to the New York Times, Temnikova won the role in a casting call.
