John Cena says it’s all about the slime.

Nickelodeon announced Tuesday that the WWE superstar will host this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards on March 11 — and the athlete and TV personality tells PEOPLE he’s “psyched” for the gig.

“Mostly because the host gets to slime everyone else,” says Cena, 39, with a laugh. “So this is my big chance to slime other people! If anybody rubs me the wrong way, I’ll point it in their direction.”

The muscled wrestler is a seasoned host, having helmed the 2016 ESPYs as well as the 2016 Teen Choice Awards with Victoria Justice (the pair got political spoofing then presidential nominees Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump).

“I want participants and recipients to have a great time above all else,” he says. “I want the audience to have a great time. It’s going to be me doing reckless stunts and what not, so hopefully I come out in one piece!”

Cena “thrives” on performing in front of live audiences, and he says the Kids’ Choice Awards will be one of the most “energized” broadcasts to date.

“It’s going to be so, so fun,” he says. “I grew up as a kid with the beginning of slime, so it’s a total honor to host the show.”

The 2017 Kids’ Choice Awards airs live from USC’s Galen Center in Los Angeles on Saturday, March 11 at 8 p.m. on Nickelodeon.
