Attention all superstitious public figures! Craig’s in West Hollywood, California, is becoming the place to shave that lucky (or unlucky) beard.

Chris Kreider, left wing for the New York Rangers, continued a trend started by Ben Affleck and shaved his facial hair at the steakhouse Friday night after losing the Stanley Cup to the Los Angeles Kings.

Affleck memorably shaved off his beard at Craig’s during an afterparty following his Best Picture Oscar win for Argo last year.

“It’s left many people to wonder what it is about that place that makes people want to shave,” an observer told PEOPLE.

Kreider, 23, had tequila and a chocolate pizza with friends at the celebrity hot spot.

If this trend continues, Craig’s may have to hire a barber to keep the stars camera-ready, and of course, to sweep up afterward.
