"I can’t believe it’s been two years. Only 730 days, which have flown by, but it feels like we have been together forever," he wrote
Late Monday, the athlete, 43, wrote to his pop star girlfriend, 49: “I can’t believe it’s been two years. Only 730 days, which have flown by, but it feels like we have been together forever. We are meant to be, and how much you mean to me cannot be put into words.”
He continued: “From baseball games, to traveling across the world to shows in Vegas. We have done it all together and every moment with you is cherished. Where this road will take us next is unknown but there is no one else I would rather have by my side. The journey is just beginning and I am excited for what’s ahead.”
Then he praised J. Lo‘s work ethic, adding: “Macha, your hard work is unmatched. Your relentless drive and determination push me to be a better man each and every day.”
To conclude, he told his girlfriend, “Like you there is none other. Words will never do justice to what the last two years have meant to me,” before signing it, “Te amo mucho, Lola.”
The pictures in the slideshow covered a range of sweet moments from their two years together, from casual sporting events to red carpet poses and family photos — including Lopez’s twins, Emme Maribel and Maximilian “Max” David, 10, and Rodriguez’s daughters, Ella Alexander, 10, and Natasha Alexander, 14.
On Sunday, the “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” singer shared her own affection for the athlete on Instagram with a photo of them together, two solo shots of the retired MLB pro, and another of their blended family.
“Two years of laughter / Two years of fun / Two years of adventures / Of excitement of growing and learning / Of true friendship / And so much love!!” she wrote.
“You make my world a more beautiful safe and stable place … in the midst of our ever-changing, ever-moving life,” added the World of Dance judge. “Te amo Macho.”
Since PEOPLE first confirmed Rodriguez and Lopez were dating in March 2017, the lovebirds have been open about their appreciation for each other, the joy of blending their families and challenges they’ve taken on as a team.
Of the potential of marriage, Lopez — who has been married three times, while Rodriguez has tied the knot once before — said in a recent interview that she understands the pressure some fans have put on the couple since they went public with their romance.

But the “Waiting for Tonight” hitmaker was also quick to point out that her life with the former New York Yankees star is private, and not like the movies she stars in.
“Everyone wants a fairy tale. They all want a romantic comedy, a happy ending. We all do,” Lopez told USA TODAY in an interview published in December. “But it’s not a movie, even if you see us on Instagram or on the shows.”
She continued, “We’re happy. We’re taking it day by day. And it’s great.”
