Madonna of the Waters, Original, Painting

This series of paintings started a out as therapy for me to help heal some wounds. Lately, it's taken on new meaning as the beaches of the Gulf Coast get invaded by run off from Lake Okeechobee. The pollution is due to the sugar industry which has donated massive contributions to get our governor elected. Sorry to preach, but dirty water is something I thought we got rid of when the Cuyahoga River in Cleveland caught fire in 1969.
